I-Cot-40 tablets contain Tadalafil, a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Tadalafil works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, helping men achieve and maintain an erection. It also relaxes muscles in the prostate and bladder, which can improve urinary symptoms associated with BPH. HOW IT WORKS:
Tadalafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. In the treatment of PAH, it relaxes blood vessels in the lungs to allow blood to flow more easily. For BPH, it relaxes the smooth muscles in the bladder and prostate, reducing urinary symptoms.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
- For Erectile Dysfunction: Take one tablet at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. The effects can last up to 36 hours. Do not take more than one tablet per day.
- For Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: Take as directed by your doctor, usually once daily.
- For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: Take one tablet daily at the same time each day.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. It can be taken with or without food.
SIDE EFFECTS:
- Common: Headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, stuffy or runny nose, and dizziness.
- Serious: Sudden vision loss, sudden hearing loss, chest pain, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, and prolonged erection (lasting more than 4 hours).
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any severe side effects.
WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS:
- Contraindications: Do not use if you are taking nitrates for chest pain, as this combination can cause a severe drop in blood pressure. Avoid use if you have severe liver or kidney impairment.
- Consultation: Inform your doctor about any existing medical conditions, especially heart problems, low blood pressure, high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, and any history of strokes or vision problems. Provide a complete list of medications you are taking, including supplements and over-the-counter drugs.
- Interactions: May interact with nitrates, alpha-blockers, antihypertensives, and certain antifungal or antibiotic medications. Discuss potential interactions with your doctor.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
- Dosage Adherence: Follow the prescribed dosage and do not exceed the recommended dose. Taking more than the recommended dose can increase the risk of side effects.
