BENEFITS:

HOW IT WORKS:

• Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV.
• This disruption prevents bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, leading to bacterial cell death.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

• Take the tablet as prescribed by your doctor, usually twice daily.
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, with or without food.
• Follow the prescribed duration of treatment to ensure complete eradication of the infection. 

SIDE EFFECTS:

• Common: Nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, and rash.
• Serious: Tendon rupture, severe allergic reactions, liver dysfunction, and Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.

Report any persistent or severe side effects to your healthcare provider immediately. 

WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS:

• Contraindications: Do not use if you are allergic to ciprofloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics. It is also contraindicated for patients with a history of tendon disorders related to quinolone use.
• Consultation: Inform your doctor about any existing medical conditions, especially kidney or liver disease, seizure disorders, or a history of myasthenia gravis. Discuss all medications and supplements you are currently taking to avoid potential interactions.
• Interactions: Can interact with antacids, dairy products, and certain supplements, reducing its absorption. It also interacts with theophylline, warfarin, and other medications. Consult your doctor before combining it with other medications.
• Storage: Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
• Dosage Adherence: Take the medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip doses or discontinue use prematurely, as this can lead to antibiotic resistance and reduce the effectiveness of treatment.
