Ambilol-XR-25

Ambilol-XR-25

Ambilol-XR-25 tablets contain Metoprolol Succinate, an extended-release formulation of a beta-blocker used to treat hypertension, angina, and heart failure. Metoprolol works by blocking beta-adrenergic receptors, which helps to slow the heart rate and reduce blood pressure, improving heart function and reducing the risk of cardiovascular events.

BENEFITS:

  • Blood Pressure Control: Effectively lowers high blood pressure, reducing the risk of strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.
  • Heart Health: Improves heart function in patients with heart failure and reduces chest pain (angina) by decreasing the heart’s workload.
  • Steady Release: Provides consistent blood levels of medication throughout the day due to its extended-release formulation.

HOW IT WORKS:

  • Metoprolol is a beta-blocker that works by blocking beta-adrenergic receptors in the heart.
  • This action decreases the heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart, leading to improved heart efficiency and reduced symptoms of heart conditions.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

  • Take the tablet orally with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily.
  • Swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing to maintain the extended-release properties.
  • Consistent daily intake at the same time each day is recommended for the best effect.

SIDE EFFECTS:

  • Common: Dizziness, tiredness, depression, diarrhea, and slow heart rate.
  • Serious: Severe allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling), shortness of breath, sudden weight gain, and very slow heartbeat.

Consult your doctor if side effects persist or worsen.

WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS:

  • Contraindications: Do not use if you are allergic to metoprolol or other beta-blockers. Avoid use if you have severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first-degree, cardiogenic shock, or decompensated heart failure.
  • Consultation: Inform your doctor about any existing medical conditions, especially asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, thyroid disorders, and heart problems. Discuss all medications and supplements you are currently taking to avoid potential interactions.
  • Interactions: Can interact with other blood pressure medications, antiarrhythmic drugs, certain antidepressants, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking to avoid harmful interactions.
  • Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Dosage Adherence: Take the medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip doses or stop the medication suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this can worsen your condition.
