HOW IT WORKS:

• Levofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV.
• This inhibition prevents bacterial DNA replication and transcription, leading to bacterial cell death and resolving the infection.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

• Take the tablet orally with a full glass of water, with or without food.
• Follow the dosage prescribed by your doctor. Typically, it is taken once daily for a specified duration, depending on the infection type and severity.
• Complete the full course of medication, even if symptoms improve before the course is finished, to prevent recurrence and resistance. 

SIDE EFFECTS:

• Common: Nausea, diarrhea, headache, and dizziness.
• Serious: Tendon rupture, nerve damage, severe allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling), and changes in blood sugar levels.

WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS:

• Contraindications: Do not use if you are allergic to levofloxacin or other fluoroquinolone antibiotics. Avoid use in patients with a history of tendon disorders related to fluoroquinolone use.
• Consultation: Inform your doctor about any existing medical conditions, especially kidney disease, epilepsy or seizures, and any history of tendon problems. Discuss all medications and supplements you are currently taking to avoid potential interactions.
• Interactions: Can interact with antacids containing magnesium or aluminum, sucralfate, metal cations such as iron, and multivitamin preparations with zinc. Take these products at least 2 hours before or after taking levofloxacin. Avoid excessive sunlight or artificial UV light exposure, as this medication can increase sensitivity to light.
• Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
• Dosage Adherence: Take the medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration of treatment, as this can lead to antibiotic resistance and other complications.
