BENEFITS:

HOW IT WORKS:

Olanzapine works by balancing the levels of neurotransmitters in the brain, particularly dopamine and serotonin. This helps to improve mood, thought processes, and behavior.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

• Take the tablet as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day.
• Can be taken with or without food.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush or chew.
• Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully and do not alter the dosage without consultation. 

SIDE EFFECTS:

• Common: Drowsiness, weight gain, increased appetite, dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, and restlessness.
• Serious: Severe allergic reactions, high blood sugar (hyperglycemia), high cholesterol, significant weight gain, and tardive dyskinesia (involuntary muscle movements).

Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any severe side effects. 

WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS:

• Contraindications: Do not use if you are allergic to olanzapine. Avoid if you have a history of severe liver disease or uncontrolled diabetes.
• Consultation: Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, stroke, epilepsy, low white blood cell counts, or a history of breast cancer. Discuss all medications, supplements, and herbal products you are currently taking.
• Interactions: Be cautious of interactions with alcohol, sedatives, antihypertensives, and medications affecting the central nervous system. Some medications, such as fluvoxamine, may increase olanzapine levels in the blood.
• Storage: Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use and out of reach of children.
• Dosage Adherence: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage. Do not exceed the recommended dose. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered, but skip it if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose.
