BENEFITS:

HOW IT WORKS:

• Escitalopram is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).

• By enhancing serotonin activity, alleviates symptoms of depression and anxiety.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

• Take one tablet orally with or without food, usually once daily, either in the morning or evening as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Follow the prescribed dosage and duration as directed by your healthcare provider. 

SIDE EFFECTS:

• Common: Nausea, dry mouth, trouble sleeping, fatigue, dizziness, increased sweating, constipation.
• Serious: Severe allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness), unusual bleeding or bruising, fast/irregular heartbeat, muscle stiffness, confusion, seizures, vision changes.

Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any severe side effects. 

WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS:

• Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to escitalopram or any component of the formulation. Concurrent use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or pimozide.
• Consultation: Inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements. Discuss your medical history, especially if you have a history of bipolar disorder, liver disease, seizure disorder, or any other significant health issues.
• Interactions: Escitalopram may interact with other medications such as MAOIs, other SSRIs, anticoagulants, NSAIDs, and certain other medications. Consult your healthcare provider about potential drug interactions.
• Storage: Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date.
• Dosage Adherence: Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not exceed or skip doses. Do not stop taking escitalopram suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this may cause withdrawal symptoms. Regularly follow up with your healthcare provider to monitor your condition and any potential side effects.
